Air force technology from the First World War to the present day

Have you ever seen air-dropped darts from the First World War? A nuclear-armed Starfighter from the Cold War era? The unique collection at the Military History Museum at Berlin-Gatow Airfield stands out for its authenticity. The fascination and the horror of military aviation technology stand in stark contrast to one another. It is not least the stories behind the technology that are particularly moving.

The historic Berlin-Gatow Airfield

The introductory tour at the historic site of the former Nazi-era air force training school, later used as a Royal Air Force airbase, traces the history of German military aviation. It offers a vivid insight into the historical and political context, from the early days of the German Empire to the present day.
