Projects and collaborations

The Military History Museum at Berlin-Gatow Airfield maintains close links with numerous partners.

National collaborations

The museum’s wide-ranging partnerships enable military history to be explored from a range of perspectives.

In Germany, we work closely with Aeronauticum Nordholz, AG Luftkriegsgeschichte Rhein-Mosel, the Allied Museum in Berlin, the German Naval Museum in Wilhelmshaven, the aviation museum Flugwerft Schleissheim, the German Tank Museum in Munster and the German Museum of Technology in Berlin. We also maintain regular contact with Peenemünde Museum of History and Technology, Rechlin Aviation Museum, Berlin-Karlshorst Museum and the Zeppelin Museum.

We have a special partnership with the town of Fassberg, including the Bundeswehr base there, and the Berlin Airlift memorial.

Our academic partners include the Bundeswehr Centre of Military History and Social Sciences, the Technical University of Berlin and Touro University in Berlin.

International collaborations

Our international partners open up European and global perspectives.

Our partners include the Air Historical Branch of the British Royal Air Force in Northolt, Hadtörténeti Intézet es Múzeum (Military History Institute and Museum) in Budapest, the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln, Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace in Paris-Le Bourget, Museum Rotterdam, the National Museum of the United States Air Force, and the Royal Air Force Museum London in Hendon, London.

This vibrant network ensures that visitors not only encounter technology, but also experience authentic stories – grounded in international expertise and rigorous research.
