Visitors frequently ask our staff the following questions.
May I take photographs in the museum for private purposes?
Photography without flash is permitted in the museum for private, non-commercial purposes.
I'm a journalist or commercial photographer.

May I bring my dog with me?
Dogs are permitted on a lead in the outdoor areas. Assistance dogs are permitted in the exhibition spaces.
What are the activity stations all about?
The activity stations are interactive features that invite both families and individual visitors to get involved.
How accessible is the museum?
Not all areas of the museum are fully accessible.
The exhibitions in the outdoor area, the special exhibitions in the control tower and the permanent exhibition ‘Zwischenlandung’ (‘Stopover’) are step-free and accessible to wheelchair users.
Access to the upper floor of Hangar 3, which houses the permanent exhibition ‘You can’t miss Gatow’ is limited, as there is no lift.
There are currently no Braille materials available for visitors with visual impairments.
An accessible toilet is located in the entrance area of Hangar 3 (permanent exhibition).
Is admission free?
Admission to the Military History Museum at Berlin-Gatow Airfield is free.
How do I get to the museum by public transport?
You can reach the museum by taking BVG bus 135. Alight at Kurpromenade or Seekorso. From there, it is just a 10-minute walk.
Is parking available at the museum?
There is free parking on the museum grounds for coaches and cars.
How can I book a guided tour?

Can I buy refreshments in the museum?
Snacks and cold drinks are available from vending machines in Hangar 3.
Groups can have lunch in the mess hall of the adjacent General Steinhoff Barracks by prior arrangement. Please indicate this when booking your visit. Civilian groups must be accompanied by museum staff.
Is there an audio guide?
No, an audio guide is currently not available.
