It’s that time of year again – the big Airfield Festival

The largest event hosted by the Bundeswehr in Berlin

Something for everyone

The Airfield Festival at the Military History Museum at Berlin-Gatow Airfield takes place every year on the first weekend in September. This two-day festival is organized jointly by the museum and the Berlin Reservists’ Association.

What can you expect? Over 80 exhibitors, flight displays featuring historic aircraft, a varied programme of entertainment, refreshments, and many other attractions for all ages. Of course, you can also visit the exhibitions and take a look behind the scenes of the museum. On both days of the festival, we will also open the hangar doors that are normally closed, providing exclusive insights into the collection storage areas with exhibits that are normally inaccessible to the public.

Reservists present their work

As part of Reservists’ Day, the Airfield Festival also serves as a showcase for the wide-ranging voluntary work carried out by reservists and the many emergency service organizations in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Always worth a visit

Even beyond the Airfield Festival, it’s always worth visiting the Military History Museum at Berlin-Gatow Airfield.
